The Reporter Magazine is Westminster City Council’s quarterly publication for residents, sharing local news, council updates, and community events across the borough.
Over a two-year period, I took end-to-end ownership of the magazine, with the challenge of designing a publication that could accommodate a wide range of issue-led content while remaining clear, engaging, and accessible to a diverse readership.
My Approach
I developed a flexible editorial layout system that allowed each issue to adapt to changing content while maintaining a consistent visual identity.
This system enabled stories to be presented in fresh and engaging ways without compromising readability or structure. The use of full-bleed imagery and a bright, vibrant colour palette was carefully considered to reflect the diversity and energy of the borough. Throughout the process, I managed the publication from initial design concepts through to final artwork, ensuring consistency, quality, and print-ready delivery across every issue.
